I work at the intersection of complex biological systems and computational theory. My current research interests include studying the dynamics and theory of learning in artificial neural networks, and the creation of novel methods for connectivity and biomarker discovery in neuroimaging. I currently am working on projects studying vascular dementia, the interaction of pharmaceuticals with mood disorders, and similar problems. I am also interested in developing novel methods for the ethical application of deep learning and other complex models to neuroimaging data. This includes leveraging distributed, privacy-sensitive features to assure patient privacy and state of the art model introspection to foster interpretability for reliable clinical and biological interpretation.
